Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko have decided to adhere to the ruling of the world football governing body by paying a fine of $240k to settle the long Emmanuel Clottey’s transfer saga, According to reports.
The Kumasi based club were hit with $180K fine by FIFA for signing a Emmanuel Clottey who was under a contract with Tunisian giants Esperance.
On Friday, April 10 FIFA issued a verdict on the matter ordering the Ghanaian giants to pay an additional $45k as interest on the amount and extra $15k to the committee that sat on the case, bringing the total figure to $240k.
The Porcupine Warriors were instructed to make full payment before 10th May, 2020 else face demotion.
However, Footballmadeinghana.com understand, Management have decided to pay the fine to cut everything short, according to source close to the club, the club feels the issue is long overdue and dragging it could trigger further issues for the club.
It is understood that management will therefore use Kwame Bonsu’s transfer money to offset the cost.
