Former Asante Kotoko striker Prince Adu Poku has recalled how we was made the fans favourite during his time at the club.
Adu-Poku who became the club legend in the late 90s says being in the news always charged him to succeed at the Porcupines Warriors.
Speaking in the first ever episode of FootballMadeInGhana’s Tales from the Past – PODCAST, the former B A United striker recalled how he made an impact during his first game for the club against Eleven Wise.
“Being fans favourite always encouraged me to give my best,” he echoed.
“I quite remembered my first game for Asante Kotoko against Eleven Wise , we were down by two goals to one when I was asked to warm up.
“I heard some section of the fans questioning my ability to make any meaningful impact in the game.
“I provided two assists for Joe Debrah to and Prince Amoako to rescue a win for Kotoko and that’s how my game started,” he revealed.
“I knew my time would come. I made two assists to stage a comeback. I knew my time would come to be a great player for the side from that day.”
Adu Poku after hanging up his boots was made the welfare officer of the club in 2012.
