Chief Executive Officer of Bechem United Nana Kwasi Darlington believes its early days yet to begin deliberations about cancelling the current Ghana Premier League season.
The local leagues are currently suspended due to the outbreak of the novel CoronaVirus disease which has taken center stage across the world.
Ghana president Nana Akuffo-Addo announced a 4 week suspension period and with less than 3 remaining, it looks quite likely the suspension will be extended as the Covid-19 situation worsens.
This had influenced talks about cancelling the league and restarting all over again when situations drastically improves.
However, Bechem United CEO Nana Kwasi Darlington believes its too early to have such talks.
He mentions that he would love the season to continue and expressed hope about the Covid-19 outbreak being history.
“It’s too early to call off the league because many teams have prepared a lot which demands continuity”, he told local station Light FM.
“It is my prayer that this plague virus vanishes out of this world for us to enjoy our beautiful game” he concluded
Bechem United sit 8th on the current league standings with 22 points.
