Spokesperson of Asante Kotoko, Kennedy Boakye Ansah says the club won’t consider slashing salaries of players amid the CoronaVirus outbreak.
The Covid-19 disease, declared a global pandemic by the WHO has brought the world on its knees eventually crippling the future and finances of all major sporting activities.
Top football clubs like Barcelona, Juventus, Bayern Munich and others have put in place plans to reduce expenses to avoid a financial free fall.
Over here in Ghana, such discussions have been had in the media following the suspension of all football activities by the Ghana Football Association due to CoronaVirus.
However, Kennedy Boakye Ansah when speaking in an interview with local FM station Oyerepa FM says such discussions have not been had at the club’s quarters.
He went further to suggest that there is no one size fits all solution for such a situation.
“I have always had the conviction that european solutions can’t solve African problems, apart from Kotoko and Hearts who pay their players considerably well, how much do other clubs pay ,they pay peanuts and we talking about pay cuts” he asked.
“We haven’t considered pay cuts” he boldly declared.
