Ex-Ghana international Tony Baffoe has teamed up with other African football legends to send messages of hope to the continent and beyond as the world fights the deadly and highly infectious novel Corona Virus.
Baffoe who now serves as CAF Deputy General Secretary is championing this initiative on behalf of the continent’s football governing body.
The virus keeps spreading at a faster rate with over 650,000 cases testing positive with 30,299 deaths. The alarming nature of the situation has led to the suspension of all major footballing activities as the world works around a cure for Covid-19.
As the search continues, several icons have been sharing messages of hope as well as safety tips to their followers. It is in light of this that CAF has assembled a league of stars to do something similar for African football fans particularly.
Tony Baffoe is joined in this list of legends by compatriot Fatau Dauda while the likes of El Hadji Diouf, Alassane N’Dour, Khalilou Fadiga, Diomansy Kamara (all Senegal), Herita Ilunga, Tresor Lomana Lualua (both DR Congo), Mustafa El Haddaoui (Morocco), Jean Ssenide (Uganda), Roger Milla, Joseph Antoine Bell (both Cameroon), Wael Gomaa (Egypt) and Vincent Enyeama (Nigeria).
Already the Ghana Football Association has also embarked on a similar campaign with stars like Thomas Partey, Asamoah Gyan, Andy Yiadom, Kassim Nuhu Adamas all partaking.
