Hearts of Oak secured bragging in the Mantse derby following their 4-0 win over city rivals Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.
Coach Edward Nii Odoom made as many as four changes to the team that drew against Inter Allies over the weekend in search of a positive reaction.
Hearts got off to a brilliant start and shot into the lead courtesy of 16th minute strike by Joseph Esso.
The Phobians controlled the tempo from then on but could not add to their tally as the first half ended 1-0.
After the recess, Hearts of Oak turned on the style and were too hot for Olympics to handle.
Benjamin Afutu scored a quick-fire double in the space of three minutes to give the hosts a three goal cushion.
Before Daniel Afriyie scored his first goal for the club in stoppage time to seal a comprehensive derby win for Hearts of Oak.
