Ashantigold SC were upset at home for the second time this season as they lost to Bechem United at the Len Clay Stadium.
The 1-0 defeat was the second for the Miners at home this campaign and jolted their title run.
Prince Adu Kwabena’s first half strike was enough for the Hunters as they registered their first away of the season.
Ashantigold started the game very well and had more of the ball but failed to create any decent chance.
The visitors came close through Hafiz Konkoni but his shot hit the goalpost.
Benedict Wobenu nearly gave the home side the lead but his shot was saved by Bechem goalie Afendzwu.
Bechem United took the lead in the 29th minute through Prince Adu Kwabena finishing a great team move.
Ashantigold pushed for the equaliser but Bechem United defended very well till the blast of the first half whistle.
The Second half was a different story all together for Ashantigold as they put more men foward.
Ashantigold created a lot of goalscoring opportunities but couldn’t get the equaliser.
Bechem United eventually held on to their lead as the game climaxed at the Len Clay Sports Stadium.
