Ghanaian international David Accam has shared his thoughts on the much talk of Colts football and Academy system.
Accam who graduated from Right to Dream Academy says both systems are very good when it comes to player development but implored Academy system gives players more opportunities compare to latter.
“Recently I saw on social media people arguing on colts football and academy system in Ghana. Most of the academy players are from the colts. We all played colts football.
” The Academies choose the best players from the colts clubs. In Ghana the colts clubs are doing well but they don’t have opportunities for the players, that is where the academies comes in.
“Personally I played Ajax academy before joining Right to Dream and I think Right to Dream are doing an amazing job. Most of the players when you look at their background you could see it’s difficult. But the Academies are doing well”
Accam’s career holds the enviable record of being the first Ghanaian to score a hat-trick in the MLS.
