Nashville SC winger David Accam has opened up about his time with Columbus Crew.
He joined the Black and Gold in 2019 from Philadelphia Union where he spent a season in Major League Soccer following an initial move from Chicago Fire.
The move meant that the 28-year-old became the fourth Ghanaian at the club- Harrison Afful, Jonathan Mensah, and Lalas Abubakar.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with FootballMadeInGhana, Accam highlighted the role of the trio in his adjustment to his new environment.
“It felt great because going to a new place is always difficult especially but getting there and meeting familiar faces made it easier for me. Most of the guys there were really welcoming but my Ghanaian brothers took care of me and made feel more comfortable than I would’ve been at a different club”
Nashville SC acquired the Ghanaian international from Columbus Crew SC in exchange for $450,000 in allocation money ($350,000 in General Allocation Money and $100,000 in Targeted Allocation Money).
