Head Coach of Inter Allies Henrik Lehm has lashed at his captain Victorien Adebayor following Inter Allies 1-1 draw against Hearts of Oak on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Nigerien import was the talking points once again after providing an assist for Samuel Armah to break the deadlock of the game, Hearts of Oak eventually equalised late in the game after unmarked Mohammed Alhassan buried the ball at the back of the net.
Despite been the club’s best player with most goals, 11 and most assists, 5 in the Ghana Premier League after matchday 13, his coach Henrik Lehm expressed his displeasure with the player inability to track back and support in defensive duties when he is without the ball.
“I say okay you make him (Victorien Adebayor) play, but going to the next highest level. For me offense. A lot of players will do that, but defense and mentality, he (Adebayor) still has a lot to learn, so don’t make him as a king,”
“Can you tell me how many players in Europe at the highest level don’t play forward and back, we call it two way play.”
The coach also stated Adebayor will struggle to start at several European clubs if he doesn’t change his attitude.
“How many players do we have in Europe don’t work, Messi and Ronaldo, how hard they work both ways. I like him (Adebayor), he is a fantastic player, without him we wouldn’t have won many points since I arrived, but as a player, he has so much to learn before he can go and play in Europe.” He added
