Newly invited Black Stars player Tariq Fosu was on target as Brentford made light work of Sheffield Wednesday in the English Championship on Saturday.
Fosu was among the players named in Coach Charles Akonnor’s squad for the AFCON 2021 double header with Sudan later this month. The former England Youth player was convinced to switch his allegiance to Ghana following talks with Akonnor.
The 24 year old was named on the bench by Brentford boss Thomas Frank and came on in the 79th minute for Bryan Mbeumo when Brentford was leading by 4-0.
Just 3 minutes later, he registered his name on the score sheet to increase the lead for the Bees. The goal was his first for Brentford since joining them in January for Oxford.
The goal is expected to boost his confidence as he prepares to move to camp for the first time ever with the Black Stars squad.
