Immediate past interim boss of AshantiGold SC, Yakubu Shaibu Mambo has reacted to his demotion from the senior team to the Academy setup of the side, insisting that he is yet to officially accept this arrangement.

In the wake of the club’s humiliating 6-1 defeat to WAFA on Sunday, the club’s hierarchy rang in some changes in the technical team. Italian Robert Landi has been appointed their new head coach with former player Thomas Duah acting as assistant Coach.

In effect Mambo has been relegated to the role of Academy Coach and Scout. The not too happy Mambo has reacted in an interview with local radio station Foxx FM.

He confirmed the new tactical changes. “It’s true I have been asked to step aside as the head coach of the club, and a new head coach was introduced to the technical team yesterday with Thomas Duah named as the new assistant.

I have been assigned to handle the academy side and double as a scout for the club. I have not decided yet whether I will accept that role or not” he concluded.
