Religious goal scorer John Antwi and Strasbourg new boy Majeed Waris are the biggest casualties as Ghana new coach CK Akonnor names his maiden Black Stars squad for the 2021 AFCON Qualifier with Sudan.
Antwi who has hit top form in Egypt this season with Pyramids FC was expected to catch the attention of Akonnor but his efforts are yet to catch the attention of the new manager.
Despite hitting top form after joining Strasbourg a month ago, Waris has been scoring for the Ligue 1 side but has also been overlooked by Akonnor.
Six debutantes have been handed call ups into the team with Yahaya Mohammed, Habib Mohammed and Richard Attah leading the pack.
Below is Ghana’s 23-man squad for the AFCON Qualifier with Sudan on 27th March at the Cape Coast Stadium.
