WAFA SC cruised to a stunning 6-1 victory over AshantiGold in Sogakope on Matchday day 12 of the Ghana Premier League.
The Academy boys took the lead in the 26th minute through Konadu Yiadom who out jumped everyone to head the ball into the net from a corner kick.
The wood work denied AshantiGold the equaliser a few minutes later after a long drive from McCarthy Appiah.
The Miners kept probing and deservedly restored parity in the 35th minute courtesy of Amos Kofi Nkruham’s header.
But WAFA got their noses in front again after Andrews Ntim stole the ball from the 18-yard box and slotted home to give the hosts a 2-1 lead at the break.
After the recess, Ibrahim Abukari made it 3-1 from the spot after Sampson Agyapong was brought down in the box.
Konadu Yiadom grabbed his brace in the 76th minute to extend their lead.
There was still time for more as Owusu Daniel and Haruna Jalilu scored late in the game to put the icing on the cake on a scintillating performance.
