The Executive Council of the Upper East Regional Football Association today, Saturday, 29th February, 2020 elected the Chief Executive Officer( CEO) of Division two side, Yelwoko Fire Strikers, Abel Asoogo as the Vice-Chairman of the regional body.
In their maiden meeting held today at the Regional Football Association Secretariat and acting on the statute of the Ghana Football Association, the Upper East RFA conducted elections to choose a deputy for Salifu Seidu Zida.
The Executive Council had to elect one member to be the Vice Chairman of the Association and two candidates, Adotey Emmanuel Blankson and Abel Asoogo put up their names for voting, but before the election was conducted Mr. Adotey withdrew from the election leaving only Asoogo to contest.
Asoogo who is also the Bawku West District Football Association Chairman pulled 9 votes from the 9 Executive Council members present for the meeting.
He will deputize Salifu Zida who was elected as the Association Chairman last year and chair ExCo meetings in the absence of Mr. Zida.
Mr. Asoogo has been in football administration for over two decades now.
