The Confederation of African Football CAF has appointed South African referee Victor Gomes as the center referee for Ghana’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier away at Sudan.
The Black Stars will be hosted by Sudan at the El Hilal Stadium in Omdurman on March 30.
The 37 year old Gomes was in charge when Ghana were eliminated under controversial circumstances from the AFCON 2019 tournament against Tunisia in the quarter finals.
The Black Stars had a goal unjustly ruled out in the first half and several poor decisions taken by the referee cost the team.
Referee Gomes will be assisted for the Sudan-Ghana assignment by countrymen Zakhele Siwela and Athenkosi Ndongeni who will act the Assistant referees 1 and 2 respectively.
The South African lineup is made complete with the inclusion of Eugine Nkosinathi Mdluli who will act as the Fourth Official while the Match Commissioner will be Sylvester Kirwa from Kenya.
