Former Head Coach of the Black Queens, Bashir Hayford has confirmed reports that he had submitted his application to the Ghana Football Association for the vacant Technical Director role.
Hayford who has been out of coaching after deciding not to return to his post as the Head Coach of the Somali National Team in December last year revealed he submitted his application after he was informed about the vacant position by the outgoing Technical Director Oti Akenten.
“It’s true I have submitted my application. I was informed by Oti Akenten and he encouraged me to apply for the position.
“I can do the job very well, I have applied for the Black Stars coaching job twice but I didn’t get the job. I can do it very well. The Technical Directors should be able to command respect from all the National team coaches. And currently I’m at that level. I’m waiting for the response of the FA.”
The FA’s Technical Directorship role became vacant after Oti Akenteng was reassigned to head the Ghanaman Soccer School of Excellence at Prampam.
