Kumasi Asante Kotoko club captain and goalkeeper Felix Annan has laughed off claims of a rift between himself and Kwame Baah.
Grapevine communication in and around the club indicates that Felix Annan doesn’t see eye to eye with Kwame Baah after the former lost his position in the starting lineup to the latter.
Baah has kept Annan out for the Porcupine Warriors lineup since Match Week 4; a situation that has triggered discussions in the media. Annan had sought permission to absent himself from the team in order to prepare for his wedding after Match Week 3.
Upon his return, he has had to warm the bench as Baah has been preferred to him.
Coach Maxwell Konadu has spoken to this matter in several pre and post-match interviews where he’s clarified the situation that Annan remains his first choice goalie but Baah was simply getting the nod based on merit.
Felix Annan was asked to also clarify matters in regards reports that the situation has caused bad blood between him and Kwame Baah.
“It’s quite funny; I don’t know where this is coming from. Being the captain and leader of the club, I don’t see myself having an issue with a player” Annan said.
“Why would I have issues with a player, it is not true” he quipped
“I have always been a professional and I’ve always kept my respect for the guys and its going great. For me its football and then we all have to support each other. At the end of the day it’s Asante Kotoko, not an individual. Whatever they are saying that I’m having problem with Kwame Baah or any player is never true” he added.
Felix Annan went ahead to claim that he has a very good relationship with all the players and always works or acts in the best interest of the club.
“We have a good relationship and then we are working very hard and we are pushing each other in training, the best is for Asante Kotoko and not an individual” he said.
