Ebusua Dwarfs Head Coach Ernest Thompson Quartey is in high spirits after his side recorded their first league win of the season.
‘The Crabs’ welcomed Dreams FC to the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in the Match Week 6 encounter needing a win to breathe life into their ailing campaign. The home side had lost all their games before then and had been billed as sure candidates for relegation.
Coach Ernest Thompson’s side, however, pulled hair from their nostrils to secure a pivotal 2-1 win over Dreams FC with goals coming from Seidu Abubakar and Albert Ato Hammond while Victor Oduro’s strike was a mere consolation for Dreams FC.
The result sees Dwarfs level on points with King Faisal as both teams occupy the last two spots on the table.
An elated Ernest Thompson Quartey told the media at the post-match press conference how relieving the win meant for his side and he anticipated such.
He said, “well I feel good… it’s been coming all the while, we were expecting this because when we took over, it’s just been a week and a half and we’ve been working very very hard to improve on the player’s condition and other technical aspects of the game and that has brought on board the improvement”.
Ernest Thompson Quartey also attributed the result to the manifestation of his tactics during the game and expressed the belief that the win over Dreams will inspire a positive run that will salvage their season.
“It(tactics) paid off, and from here I believe we’re going to move on and on…its been very difficult but thank God, this will actually calm the nerves of our supporters, the players themselves and we on the technical bench because it now gives us the impression that with a little push we can make it” he concluded.
Ebusua Dwarfs will next travel to Obuasi to face AshantiGold SC.
