Legon Cities FC finally secured their first premier league win of the campaign after posting a 1-0 result.
The Royals went into the MatchWeek 6 encounter lacking a win but the writings on the wall pointed towards getting it against Bechem United.
No disrespect to Bechem United, but the side had underperformed in away games and this alone gave some impetus to the home side to believe in recording their first victory if the campaign.
The game got off to a flyer at the Accra Sports stadium as the home side started on the front foot.
A 3rd minute free kick awarded them was slotted in by Karim Abdul Jabila. Jabila’s goal gave Legon Cities the lead and they held on to that throughout the remaining minutes of the first half.
Back from recess both side did whatever possible to alter the scoreline. Legon Cities put in much more effort though to keep their lead intact.
Eventually, the game ended with the scoreline remaining the same as Legon Cities recorded the first win of the campaign.
The Royals are now on 6 points and lie 12th on the table. For Bechem, the loss was their second this season and they slip to 6th on the league table still on 10 points.
Karim Abdul Jabila was eventually named Man of the Match.
Congratulations to @JabilaA for winning the man of the match in tonight's game. ⚽👏 pic.twitter.com/dsmiSgYJdS
