The President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku has revealed that all national team coaches will receive monetary allocations every month as part of efforts to incentivize the technical team members of the various national team setups.
The move is a massive improvement from the existing order where only the Black Stars Coach was remunerated at the end of every month. Subsequently, the assistant coaches of the senior national football team were also adopted to become beneficiaries of such an arrangement.
However in a bid to ensure equity and motivate all national team coaches, the GFA together with government has teamed up to recompense all national team coaches albeit not with the same amount.
This disclosure was made by the GFA president during an engagement with the newly appointed coaches of the various male and female national sides as part of a first ever conference for national team coaches.
Kurt Okraku noted the existing arrangement for national team coaches and excitedly announced the new arrangement which will benefit all national team coaches.
“We’ve realized that over time its only our Black Stars Head Coach and recent times the assistant coach of the Black Stars who get monthly allowance or salaries” he remarked.
“I’m happy to say that going forward all our national team coaches will receive something” he continued.
The GFA president also seized the moment to admonish the newly appointed coaches to desist from taking bribes before offering opportunities to players to play for the country. He prayed coaches to henceforth ensure strictly that players offered invites into the national teams fully deserve such opportunities.
“I hope this bold strategy by the council (Exectuive Council of GFA) of the Football Association in conjunction with our government to ensure that everybody is happy would help us and ensure that only the top quality talent get national attention” he concluded.
