Head coach of Asante Kotoko Maxwell Konadu has revealed his side are on the verge of completing the signing of former Karela United forward Wiiliam Opoku Mensah.
Maxwell was speaking about the inefficiency of side’s attack after their first defeat of the season against Berekum Chelsea.
“We see that there is the need to beef up our striking department and so are signing William Opoku Mensah tomorrow.”
Footballmadeinghana.con understands the 23-year-old has reached an agreement with the Porcupine Warriors and will be announced before the close of the transfer window.
Opoku is currently without a club after his contract with American second-tier side Swope Park Rangers was terminated due to his poor output.
He failed to make a single appearance for the affiliate club of Sporting Kansas City in the United Soccer League.
Mensah joined Swope Park Rangers from Ghana Premier League side Karela United after guiding them as skipper in their debut season in the Ghana Premier League.
He scored seven (7) goals in his 14 appearances for Karela United FC during the first round of the truncated 2018 Ghana Premier League season.
