Injured Asante Kotoko midfielder Richard Senanu is nearing a return to fitness after months on the sidelines.
Senanu suffered a knee injury during the team’s campaign in the CAF Confederations Cup game against Zesco United last year and has since been unable to feature for the Reds.
He underwent a surgery in Germany in July last year and has since been under rehabilitation.
Medical Doctor of the club, Emmanuel Osei Owusu has provided update on the player’s recovery.
“Senanu is currently undergoing the second phase of recovery,” he said.
“This part is divided into two, and the first includes the strengthening of his muscles. This should take him a month to complete.”
“The second part, which is about endurance drills, will follow immediately afterwards. That should also take a month to complete.
“Senanu will then be strong enough to join his teammates once his muscles have been strengthened and he has attained the required body strength and endurance level.”
The player is likely to be back on the pitch in April 2020.
