After waiting for a year and 8 months since the Ghana Premier League went into hibernation following the Anas Exposé, Ghanaians were served the best of football meals as the 2019/20 league commenced.
With nine matches being played for the first time in the history of the Ghana Premier League in an 18-club league, football lovers had a taste of all that the game offers.
While fans of Accra Hearts of Oak moan over their loss to Berekum Chelsea at home, Asabte Kotoko fans jumped in the air in wild jubilation over their hard-fought 1-0 win over Eleven Wonders at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
For fans of Dreams FC and Aduana Stars, there isn’t any better way to start a season after recording 4-1 and 4-0 victories over King Faisal and Inter Allies respectively.
Generally, a total number of 26 goals were scored on match day one with 8 of the halos coming from visiting teams.
