Following their stupendous outing against Accra Hearts of Oak in the week one fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, Berekum Chelsea have emerged the FootballMadeInGhana Club of the Week.
Aduana Stars and Dreams FC both recorded landslide wins over Inter Allies and King Faisal respectively but both wins were recorded at home.
A strong case was made for Medeama SC by the FMIG Technical Select Team but Berekum Chelsea won the admiration of all and were unanimously voted as the club of the season.
Medeama SC traveled to Cape Coast to lash Ebusua Dwarfs 3-1 in a game many had predicted a win for the visitors who are string contenders for the title.
However, a few people had the conviction that Berekum Chelsea could travel to Accra to shock the Phobians.
Hearts ahead of the game were overwhelming favourites considering their previous encounters with Berekum Chelsea at the venue.
But, the youthful Chelsea side proved a hard but to crack for the Phobians, pipping them and could have even increased the tally but for a disallowed goal by the referee.
Little did the Phobians expect that Chelsea could pull that surprise with Jonah Attoquaye, eventual Man of the Match, snatching the match winner for the visitors.
For traveling to Accra to shock Hearts of Oak, a side many had tipped to contend for the league title, Berekum Chelsea beat all to emerge the club of the week.
Perhaps with Ahmed Adam, Braimah Forster and Kofi Owusu, the Blues can shock many other clubs on the coming days.
