Andre Ayew was on target again for Swansea City in their 3-1 defeat to Brentford in the Championship on Thursday.

Bryan Mbeumo broke the deadlock for Brentford midway through the first half before  Watkins doubled their lead five minutes later.

Andre Ayew pulled one back for the Swans with 25 minutes remaining, after David Raya only parried Bersant Celina’s initial effort into the path of the Ghanaian.

The Black Stars skipper has now scored 9 goals in the Championship and two in Cup matches in the ongoing campaign.

Despite pressure from Swansea it was Brentford who scored late on to seal the victory, Watkins beating the offside trap and finishing into the bottom corner with just Woodman to beat.
