The Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association Mr Oti Akenten has called on Ghana Premier League clubs to have faith in local coaches and appoint them to head their various clubs.
According to the CAF technical instructor, Ghanaian clubs don’t value local coaches meanwhile they are best and also learn a lot as the white coaches.
“It’s about time we trust our Local Coaches because they learn a lot as the white Coaches” He told Ashh Fm sports.
“We should also know that there are a lot of factors that contributes to losing matches but we always blame our Coaches”
“Our clubs should have patience for our local coaches because they will deliver when given time to work”
Oti Akenten also revealed the breakdown of licenced coaches in the Ghana and justified why the local clubs must value them.
“We have over 150 CAF Licenced A Coaches in the Country, 300 Licenced B, 400 Licenced C, but we always rely on white Coaches so we don’t ask for our Local Coaches”
“Ghanaian Clubs don’t value the Coaching courses we do in the Country but they are the best and the same as those courses that is been done in other Countries”
“We must change our attitude and give our Local Coaches work to do because they can do it perfectly” He added.
