Christian Atsu played a starring role for Newcastle United in their pulsating 2-2 draw with Manchester City on Saturday.
The 27 year old climbed off the bench in the 80th minute in what proved to be a tactical masterstroke by manager Steve Bruce.
Manchester City thought they had game in the bag when Kevin de Bruyne found the net in the 82nd minute with a brilliant long-range effort which went in off the crossbar.
But with two minutes of normal time remaining Atsu pulled the ball back for his team-mate Shelvey, who beat the dive of Ederson to ensure both teams shared the spoils at the St.James Park.
The Ghanaian international who has largely been reduced to a bit-part player since the arrivals of Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin is starting to make a case for a more regular spot in the team.
