Ghana U23 star Robin Polley has called on fans to keep faith with the Black Meteors in their bid to qualify for 2020 Olympics.
That dream was put on hold after failing to beat to Côte d’Ivoire in the semifinals of the ongoing U23 AFCON on Tuesday.
The Black Meteors were beaten 3:2 on penalties in their clash with the Young Elephants after a 2:2 stalemate in regulation time.
Ghana will now face South Africa in the third place playoff on Friday in what will be their final attempt to grab a ticket to represent Africa at the global event in Tokyo.
Polley, son of former Ghana international Prince Polley, took to his social media page to react to the defeat to Ivorians and also urge Ghanaians not to give up on the team.
“Full bag of experience I take it with me for the journey. Sad that I still not have prove the player I am it takes time. As team we lost a battle but not a war Friday we have the chance to still get the tickets to Tokyo so don’t lose hope,” the pacy winger posted after the game.
