FC Paderborn star Christopher Antwi-Adjei has admitted he was stunned when he learned he had been called up to the Ghana national team for this month’s AFCON 2021 qualifiers.
The 25-year old earned his maiden invite to the Black Stars after his impressive performances in the ongoing Bundesliga campaign.
Speaking in an exclusive interview FootballMadeInGhana.com, Chris revealed his shock after being drafted by Coach Kwesi Appiah.
“I was very very surprised, I had contact with the coach since summer this year but the call up for me it was like ‘wow’. When I was a child I had dreams of playing for the national team, in the World Cup and African Cup. Now I’m sitting next to Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Thomas Partey. Those are big players for me and I’m really grateful for this”
The pacy winger missed the match against South Africa due to his late arrival but could make his international debut for Ghana this afternoon, when they play São Tomé in the second game of Group C of the Nations Cup qualifier.
