Black Stars B coach Maxwell Konadu and his Skipper Shafiu Mumuni have been picked among the Goal MTN 315 impressive coaches and players for the month of October.
MTN in September this year intruduced the best of football for the last 30 days where they review the best of the last 30 days of football among coaches and players.
Ghana and Inter Milan midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah was nominated among the top performers in September.
The performance of Maxwell Konadu and Shafiu Mumuni during the WAFU tournament didn’t go unnoticed as they also get recognition for the month October.
Maxwell Konadu Ghana ’s may have fallen short in the Wafu Cup final, but he deserves immense credit for galvanising this Black Stars side to go so far in the tournament, particularly considering they haven’t had a domestic league in operation since June 2018.
Konadu’s big gambles paid off, and he was duly named by ESPN as the coach of the tournament.
Whilst Shafiu Mumuni won the Top Scorer award at the Wafu Cup after leading the line with distinction for the Black Stars.
He fully justified Konadu’s decision to name him as captain with a series of commanding displays (and vital goals), and was unfortunate not to take home the title.
The striker has subsequently been rewarded with a full Black Stars call-up.
