Host and Ghana’s Group A opponents Egypt have announced their final 21-man squad for the 2019 CAF U23 Cup of Nations.
Former Stoke City player Ramadan Sobhi currently at Al Ahly SC will captain the side at the competition.
The list is predominantly home-based players with Zamalek producing four players and Al Ahly three.
Head coach Shawky Gharib couldn’t count on star midfielder Mohamed Mahmoud who missed out on selection due to another ACL injury.
Egypt will face Mali in the tournament opener on 8 November at the Cairo International Stadium.
Their second game is against Ibrahim Tanko’s Black Meteors three days later before facing off with Cameroon on 14 November.
