There is still some degree of uncertainty surrounding the long-term future of Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers next month.
However, the under-fire manager can be optimistic after receiving the temporary backing of the new GFA administration for the double header against South Africa and São Tomé.
The 59 year old trainer has only two months left on his current contract and must churn out positive results to earn a contract extension or risk losing his job.
Executive Council Member Nana Oduro Sarfo has confirmed the Ghana FA has decided to bet on Kwesi Appiah for the next two matches before taking a definitive stance on his future.
”We spoke with Kwesi Appiah to find out his problems and how we can help him ahead of the Black Stars games,” Nana Oduro Sarfo said on Asempa FM.
”We did not speak about new contract or sacking him. He still has two months to go so we assured him of our support.
”After the two games, we will sit down and decide whether to give him a new deal or not,” he said.
