Chairman of Division One League side Young Apostles, Sammy Anim Addo is among three Division One League clubs representatives who have been voted onto the new Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council.
Despite being widely considered a wild card ahead of today’s elections, the young football administrator upset the odds to clinch a seat on the highest decision making body of the FA.
He managed to be beat off stiff competition from six other bigwigs including Alhaji Grunsah and Lawyer Kwaku Ayiah who missed out on the seat after managing only 9 and 7 votes respectively.
Sammy Anim Addo, who doubles as Asamoah Gyan’s manager polled 19 votes to join Randy Abbey (26 votes) and Mark Addo (25 votes) as DOL reps on the Council.
The three will serve on the GFA Executive Council for the next four years.
The other unsuccessful candidates that were also vying for the slots include;
Otuo Acheampong Braimah Boadaa (14 votes)
Justice Boison (13 votes)
Gideon Fosu (17 votes)
Eric Oppong Yeboah (4 votes)
