Ahead of the CHAN qualifier second leg game against Burkina Faso in Quagadougo, Black Stars B skipper Shafiu Mumuni has insisted Ghana are in Burkina Faso to qualify and nothing else.
Despite losing the first leg at home by a lone goal, the Ashantigold striker has insisted the players are motivated to play above themselves in order to qualify for the championship in Cameroon next year.
“We are highly motivated, moreover we had the opportunity to play them in the WAFU tournament”He told footballmadeinghana.com.
“We saw their play at the Baba Yara Stadium and again saw them in the WAFU tournament so we have adopted their system of play.
“We are here to pick a win because we started planning from Ghana and all the players are determined and focus.
“We are not here to just play football, but we are here to qualify for the CHAN tournament.
Shafiu Mumuni also spoke about his performance at the just ended WAFU and how he is hoping to replicate it in Sunday’s game.
“As a striker, it’s your duty to score and help your team win games .
“I put in hard work during the WAFU tournament thanks to all my colleagues and I believe we are going to replicate the same performance so as to ensure qualification”
Ghana will be hoping to qualify and return to the mundial after missing out in the last two editions.
