Newly elected Ashanti Regional Football Association Chairman Osei Tutu Agyemang has admitted Friday’s election was the toughest he has faced since he started running for the RFA seat in 2009.
Despite winning the seat by 20 votes margin, Osei Tutu Agyemang admitted it wasn’t easy because of how some section of the media were also against him.
“It’s the hardest, because this is the first time I have been contested. It wasn’t easy but the delegate know I’m capable of doing the job”.
“The lies were too much. You don’t win election by pesting lies on your opponent. That is not good.”
“The media don’t have any idea of what is going on here at the RFA, they just sit on their various radio station and make allegations without cross checking their fact. How many of them come here for information. How many of them know we have a 45 seater conference room here. The lies are too many” He told Footballmadeinghana.com.
Mr Osei Agyemang also rejected the claim by his opponent that he was allowed to compile the list of delegates for the election.
“It is not true, the secretary was incharge of that. After compiling the list, the FA will authenticate before verifying from all us. They even made us add two delegates to the list because the list submitted to them wasn’t complete.
“Even if what he said is true, what was the margin? Was the margin 3 or 2, he should stop the lies and move on”
Osei Tutu Agyemang will run for the third time in office since assuming office in 2019.
