In-form Jordan Ayew has discussed the importance of having the trust of his Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson.
The Ghanaian international has been the main man at Selhurst Park this season, leading the line and scoring three goals already in a strong start to the Premier League campaign.
According to the 28 year old striker, there is a direct correlation between the confidence his manager has instilled in him and his rich vein of form.
“Obviously people are different,” he told Mirror Sport. “For some the way they relate to the manager does affect their game and there are those who want to feel that warmth.
“I can say that when you have the trust of the manager it does make you want to go the extra mile to make things happen.
“We are professionals but we are also human beings. A lot of the time people think that footballers don’t react in the way normal human beings do, but that is not the real world.
“We feel the love when things are going right and we know the pain that comes with tough times.
“It’s just that one of the beautiful things about this profession is that there is always the chance to get better, to go one more time and polish that first touch, to work on that side step and to bend it in accurately again and again.”
