By popular acclamation, Robert Otieku Duncan has been elected as the Chairman of the Central Region Football Association on Friday, footballmadeinghana.com can confirm.
Duncan has been in acting role as the RFA Boss following the death of MNS Doe since July last year.
Duncan who had no challenger had all the 62 delegates present unanimously endorsing him as the RFA Boss for the Central Region.
In all, 75 delegates were expected to cast their votes but 13 were absent.
The election of Duncan as the football capo of the Central Region was threatened by court action following agitations by contender Roy Arthur.
But the Ghana FA Normalization Committee have gone ahead to organize the elections despite the threats of an injunction by Roy.
An Accra High court two presided over by Justice Eric Kyei Baffour dismissed the interlocutory injunction on the Ghana Football Association elections by Roy Arthur following his disqualification.
The application sought to restrain the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Normalization Committee acting as the Elections Committee from going ahead with the electoral process of getting new leaders for the association.
Arthur filed a suit against the Committee at the Accra High Court after his appeal against his disqualification from the contesting elections was thrown out.
The Judge who presided over the case said the application was not properly filled by the applicant.
It didn’t exhaust the remedies available under the FA Statutes it said.
According to the Judge, the writ filed by Roy Arthur did not state any of the clauses breached by the Federation under the election regulations.
The defendant lawyer, Naa Odofoley Nortey prayed the court to award damages of ยข3000 on the basis of an affidavit she filed in opposition even though it was an ex parte.
