Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko have been embroiled in a bribery scandal involving Head Coach Kjetil Zacharriassen, according to local media reports.
The Norwegian trainer has been accused of being deeply involved in the signing former Berekum Chelsea midfielder Mudarisu Seidu.
Ghanasportscenter.com reports that, the former Ashanti Gold gaffer and his agent asked the player to pay a sum of GH¢ 2000 as a token of appreciation to the coach for giving him the nod to sign for the Porcupine Warriors.
The report further states that, Mudarisu Seidu, without informing his manager, went to withdraw GH¢ 18,000 to coach Kjetil Zacharriassen and his agent.
Seidu subsequently informed his manager of the transaction who has since taken it upon himself to retrieve the money.
The player’s agent has launched a formal complaint to the management of Kotoko.
This latest development comes just days after the expatriate coach was reported to have used fake certificates to land the Kotoko job.
