Black Stars B captain Shafiu Mumuni has engraved his name in the history books after his swashbuckling display against their Ivorian counterparts on Tuesday evening.
The AshantiGold striker bagged all three goals as Maxwell Konadu’s side secured a 3:1 victory over Ivory Coast in the semi finals of the ongoing WAFU Cup in Senegal.
Mumuni broke the deadlock in the 31st minute courtesy a goal mouth tussle and a defensive blunder.
The skipper commenced the second half with two quick goals at the 46th and 48th minute to extend Ghanas’ lead and book a place in the finals.
Shafiu Mumuni’s hatrick is the first recorded in the history of the WAFU tournament.
