The Black Stars B if Ghana qualified to the final of the 2019 WAFU Cup by beating Ivory Coast by 3-1 in the semifinals.
Shafiu Mumuni’s hat trick in the 30th, 46th and 49th minute were enough for the Local Black Starts to emerge victorious against their West African counterpart.
The game looked difficult for the two sides as both sides maintained a level of composure in the early minutes of the game.
Skipper Shafiu Mumuni broke the deadlock for Ghana after Esso’s shot was saved by the goalkeeper which saw the striker tapping the ball to the goalpost.
Ivory Coast pushed for an equaliser but Ghana had a compact and a solid defense which prevented their foes from getting their equaliser.
Ghana doubled their lead just after the recess, Augustine Okrah crossed found Shafiu Mumuni who made no mistake and headed the ball to the back of the net.
Shafiu completed his hat tick on the 69th minute, heading home Anabila’s cross from the right side.
In the 71st minute, Number Seven Shirted Doumbia for Ivory Coast fired a thunderbolt which went over the goalpost before he got the consolation goal for his side from a direct free kick.
The game subsequently came to an end with the Local Black Stars winning by 3 goals to 1 over the Local Elephants.
Ghana thus advanced to the grand finale of the competition after tonight’s victory.
