Head coach of Asante Kotoko kjetil Zachariassen has admitted that, a lot of things went wrong with his side after their 3-0 defeat to Etoile Du Sahel in the second leg of the CAF Champions League.
Despite winning the first leg by 2-0, the Porcupines suffered a 3-0 defeat in the return leg which ended their hopes of qualifying to the group stages of the competition since 2006.
Speaking to the media after the game, Zachariassen admitted inexperience cost his team, he also insisted his players didn’t stick to his game plan on the day.
“I don’t think we stick to the plan today, we played a little strange football today and we showed that we don’t have too much experience at this level.
“Etoile Sportive du Sahel showed that they had more experience and they used it, the players need to learn and bring it to the confederation cup.
“The list of things that went wrong is long, we just need to learn from this , we learnt a lot of lessons most of all the mental side of it , we shouldn’t have done the mistakes we did.
Yesterday’s defeat means Asante Kotoko have now dropped to the CAF Confederations Cup
