The much anticipated tournament came to an end after seven days of exciting and facinating moment of soccer action which saw youth team across West African competing against each other.
At the the end of the the tournament, Ofori Academy Foundation have been crowned champions after beating Cheetah fc by 3-2 in the final.
Ofori Academy Foundation took the lead on 25th Minute through Ofori Williams, It was a through pass and he placed the ball at the left of Cheetah Fc goalkeeper. On the 67th Minutes, Sulemana Rahim levelled matters for Cheetah FC through a powerful header. The first half ended 1-1.
Ofori Academy Foundation came closer to get the second but a timely intervention by Abdul Rahim denied them the deserved lead.
Ofori Academy finally made it 2-1 after wasting a lot of chances in the second half.
The kumasi based Academy went ahead to make it 3-1 few minute after scoring the second.
Despite a late consolation from John Batigi of Cheetah FC, Ofori Academy held on to their 3-2 lead till the blast of the final whistle.
Ofori Academy Foundation lifted the beautiful trophy after beating the Kasoa based club 3-2 in the the 2nd edition of the Babyjet promotion African under 16 invitational tournament at the Asamoah Gyan sports complex Accra Academy.
Sixteen clubs across West African participated in this year’s tournament.
The overall best player of the tournament was awarded to Williams Owusu of Ofori Academy Foundation. Top scorer went to Batigi John of Cheetah Fc who scored five goals in the competition.
The Baby jet Africa under 16 tournament offers the young talented players the opportunity to Showcase their skills and talents to top scouts, coaches, agents and representatives of foreign clubs and also to give unsigned players to earn professional contract with foreign clubs.
Organizers for the Baby Jet Under 16 tournament are Goldstar Consult LTD, Supported by Ashfoam, Asamoah Gyan Foundation and baby Jet promotion.
