Ghana star Michael Essien has become the second African after former Chelsea teammate Didier Drogba to be named as FIFA 20 Ultimate Team Icon.

The 36 year old will be joining the class of FUT 20 as a playable Icon in the game.

There have been a number of new Ultimate Team Icons announced ahead of FIFA 20’s release, including Zinedine Zidane, Andrea Pirlo, Ian Wright, John Barnes, Ian Rush, Ronald Koeman and more.

None of Essien’s in-game stats have been revealed yet, but he is guaranteed to have some incredible attributes and will be a great midfielder to have in your team.

He joined Azerbaijan Premier League outfit Sabail FK back in March, signing a one-and-a-half year deal.

He is also the coach of Sabail’s U19 team.
