In-form Solomon Asante smashed three records as Phoenix Rising defeated Colorado Springs Switchbacks 3-0 on Saturday evening.
The diminute winger was on target again as Rising extended its historic winning streak to 17-straight matches.
The Ghanaian international doubled the club’s lead when he forced a turnover deep in the Colorado Springs’ defensive zone and calmly beat the goalkeeper one-on-one.
The 8th minute strike took his tally to 20 goals, a club record for most goals ever score by a single player in a season.
On the stroke of half time Asante turned provider- his 13th assist of the season after putting Adam Jahn to make it 3-0 and seal the win.
He set a new USL Championship record for most combined goals and assists (33) in a season.
Solomon Asante, Adam Jahn, and Junior Flemmings also broke the USL Championship single-season record for most goals scored by a teammate trio (46).
