The Normalisation Committee (NC) of the Ghana Football Association has mistakenly transferred Berekum Arsenal’s Special Competition money into the account of regional rivals Berekum Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Chelsea claim they cannot refund due to some challenges with the account, therefore the money is all but lost.
Bankroller of Berekum Arsenal, Alhaji Yakubu Moro revealed the shocking details in an interview with Asempa FM. He also threatened to take legal action against the NC if their money is not repaid in full.
This latest mishap has given credence to the critics who have accused the interim body of gross incompetence.
“They [the NC] say they have transferred the money into our account but unfortunately, the money has mistakenly landed in the account of Nana Kwame Nketia [Brekum Chelsea],” he revealed.
“I have checked my account and found no money; I contacted Nana Kwame [Brekum Chelsea’s owner], he confirmed the money came but it is gone because there was a problem with the account. How can you send Berekum Arsenal’s money into the account of Berekum Chelsea?
“I don’t care where the money has gotten to; all I need is my money.
“They [NC] are incompetent; and they don’t know what they’re doing. I will take them to court if I don’t get my money. They should go to the National Theatre and act; they are comedians,” he fumed.
