The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) has congratulated the nation’s two representatives in this year’s CAF inter-clubs’ tournaments, Kumasi Asante Kotoko and AshantiGold SC for successfully qualifying to the next stage of their respective competitions over the weekend.
The Miners put up a dominant display at the Len Clay Stadium to overcome their Confederations Cup opponents, Akonangui FC on Saturday, whiles the Porcupine Warriors on Sunday afternoon, painted Kumasi red with a vintage victory in the CAF Champions league to knock out Nigeria’s Kano Pillars.
A statement read;
“The PFAG wishes to commend the technical benches and playing bodies of both teams for giving all football-loving Ghanaians a double dose of joy and ecstasy over the weekend!
We remain resolute in our belief that even better days and greater successes are on the horizon for Ghana football, as evidenced by the impressive displays churned out by our two representatives so far.
We wish both Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Obuasi AshantiGold SC all the best as they gear up for their final preliminary stage competitors.
Kotoko will clash with Tunisia’s Etoile du Sahel, whiles AshantiGold face off against Moroccan outfit RS Berkene.
The PFAG continues to stand with them and for them as they aim to qualify for the lucrative group phase of both competitions!”
