The Black Queens are set to leave the shores of Ghana on Monday for Libreville where they will begin their campaign with Gabon in their quest to the Tokyo 2020 games.
The team was initially camping at the Ghanaman soccer center of excellence in prampram for few weeks now.
However, Coach Mercy Tagoe after carefully examination of the players quality has come out with a list of top 18 players who are set to make the journey to Gabon.
Notable amongst the Squad is foreign based Portia Boakye who was absent during the WAFU campaign. Portia scored the bicycle kick for the queens to win 1-0 over Congo Brazzaville in the final at the stade de Alfonso de Massemba where Ghana emerged victorious.
Debutant Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah who happenes to be Ampem Darkoaa ladies’ young Forward made a surprise entrance into the squad whilst Police Ladies Philicity Asuako and Sea Lion’s Elizabeth Owusuwaa made a quick return to the Squad.
The squad also have a Young and Agile goalkeeper, Abigail Tawiah of Elmina sea lions who will deputise the country’s number one shot stopper, Fafali Dumehasi.
Ghana will play Gabon on Wednesday, 28th August, 2019 whilst the return leg will be played between 30th August to 3rd September, 2019.
