Christian Atsu was the star of the show on his injury return as Newcastle United stunned Tottenham 1-0 in the English Premiership on Sunday.

The Ghanaian international who was introduced in the 17th minute to replace the injured Allan Saint-Maximin, created more chances than any other player (three) and provided a sublime assist for the match winner.

Joelinton expertly dispatched low beyond Lloris in the 27th minute after Atsu picked him out with an exquisite pass with the outside of his boot.

The solitary strike was enough to hand the Magpies their first win of the season.

Atsu missed the start of the new English Premier League campaign due a hamstring injury he suffered at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt on July 1.
