Former FIFA U-17 World Cup winner Awudu Issaka has called on Ghanaians to forgive coach Kwesi Appiah following the country’s disgraceful showing at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Black Stars, who won just a single game in the competition were booted out at the round of 16 stage by Tunisia.
The last 16 exit was Ghana’s worst performance at the continental showpiece since 2006.
Appiah has since come under heavy criticisms and pressure from the public to step down from his post.
However, Awudu Issaka insists the former Ghana international deserves another opportunity to prove himself.
“Ghanaians are not happy about the coach and wants him gone, because he failed, but at the end of the day he is our own man, and if you look at the new proposal (Code of conduct) that will regulate the players behavior, it means he has learned from his mistakes, let forgive and give him another chance.” He said in an interview with Atinka total sport.
